INFORMATION COLLECTION & USE INCLUDING COMMUNICATIONS FROM OUR
SITE
Free Startup Business eNewsletter & Boot
Camp Event Notifications
In order to provide information we feel is useful to aspiring entrepreneurs
and people interested in attending our live events, we request minimal
contact information and location information so we may effectively
deliver event notifications that are local and relevant to You.
We request your email address which is required, and may also request
your first name, phone number and/or cell phone.
We use this information to contact you about our Services which you
have expressed an interest in. We may contact you via email, SMS text
messages (if you opt in) and even through live or automated telephone
notifications. In all cases, we provide convenient opt-out instructions
if for any reason you choose to no longer receive our email, text or
phone notifications or eNewsletter.
Introductory Seminar Registration
In some of the cities where we hold workshops, we also offer seminars which may be free or at a very low admission price. The goal of these seminars is to provide attendees with useful, actionable information to assist them in their business and entrepreneurial endeavors as well as introduce them to the full value of our weekend workshops. Often times, these seminars are sponsored by organizations such as the local Chamber of Commerce, SCORE, the SBA and other groups who may also assist Us in promoting these seminars to the local community. By registering for one of our free or low cost seminars, You may also receive emails from one or more of our event sponsors in addition to followup emails from Us. In all cases, You may opt-out of receiving these communications at any time by taking the action at the bottom of any email that you receive. Additionally, we also announce to the attendees either during check-in or sometime during the event that You may receive emails from our sponsors and offer an opt-out option at that time (should the event be sponsored).
Event Registration
In order to attend one of our Events, you must first complete the
registration including remitting payment. During registration you
are required to provide Us with contact information (such as your name,
email address, telephone number(s) and billing address) and financial
information (such as credit card number, expiration date and CVV).
We use this information for billing purposes. If we have trouble processing
your transaction, we will use this information to contact you. We do
not store any billing-related information on our servers.
You also have the option to provide idea/business concept information
to us; we encourage you to submit this information so we can provide
you a more personalized experience prior to, and during our events.
When you register for an event, you typically will receive a confirmation
email from us with specific event details such as directions to the
event as well as a payment receipt from our payment processor. Because
we want to ensure you maximize your investment in our event, we will
remind you of the upcoming event you registered for via email, SMS
text messages (if applicable and only if you opt in) and even through
live or automated telephone notifications.
Event Wait List Registration
Since many of our Events fill to capacity well in advance of the event
date and since we do not accept registrations at the door, prospective
attendees are usually provided the option to sign up on the Waiting
List in case someone needs to reschedule their attendance to another
date. When a spot opens up, we will attempt to contact everyone on
the Waiting List for that event, typically in order of a "first
come-first contacted" basis. If the event you are interested in
is full, we highly encourage you to sign up for the Waiting List immediately.
You are under no obligation to attend when you are on the Waiting List
but the sooner you sign up for it, the more likely you are to be offered
the opportunity to attend should a seat become available. If you are
on the Wait List, we will contact you via email, SMS text messages
(if applicable and only if you opt in) and even through live or automated
telephone notifications. Although we try to allow for an hour or two
to elapse before calling the next person in line on the Wait List,
we cannot guarantee this especially when the Event date is near. If
you receive a message from us regarding your Wait List interest, please
contact us as soon as possible even if you cannot attend so we may
offer the spot to the next person in line.
Customer Service
We will communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide
the services you request, and to notify you of our events. We will
communicate with you by email, text message (if applicable and only
if you specifically opt-in) or by telephone (typically live, but telephone
communication may be automated).
Surveys or Contests
Because we are very interested in improving our events and delivering
exceptional value to our attendees, we may also contact you after you
attend one of our events to solicit feedback or complete a satisfaction
survey. This contact may occur immediately following an event or even
several weeks or more after an event.
We may use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys
or contests; that company is prohibited from using our users' personally
identifiable information for any other purpose. We will not share the
personally identifiable information you provide through a contest or
survey with other third parties.
